Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will turn 42 on Friday

Sachin Tendulkar thanked his family, friends and fans for their wishes on his 42nd birthday this Friday. The legendary cricketer also made his debut on Instagram with a photo of him with son Arjun, daughter Sarah and wife Anjali.

Tendulkar posted the above photo on his account and said that he enjoyed having a birthday lunch with his family.

The former cricketer received an overwhelming number of wishes with several current and former cricketers tweeting their messages for him. Even as the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma joined Anil Kumble in wishing Tendulkar on his birthday, the ex batsman opened his official account on Instagram - an immensely popular mobile photo and video sharing social platform.

He, however, did not forget to thank his fans on Twitter - a platform where he has over 9 million followers.

Once again Happy Birthday to God Of Cricket SACHIN TENDULKAR

World Cup 2015: The 'God' knew it, Sachin Tendulkar prediction on semis spot on

SYDNEY: He isn't called the 'God of cricket' for nothing and Sachin Tendulkar lived up to the title by accurately predicting the cricket World Cup semifinalists.

Much before the tournament began, Tendulkar picked India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa as the last four for the showpiece and the line-up turned out exactly that a month later.

Australia beat India to enter the final, while New Zealand edged past South Africa to make it a final of the co-hosts.

Sachin Tendulkar had made his prediction during the launch of his autobiography 'Playing It My Way' in London last month.

He was asked to pick his world champion but the Indian limited himself to naming the semifinal line-up.

"I can't pinpoint any one team but there are a few competitive teams. I would like to name Australia, South Africa, New Zealand (as a dark horse), and India," said Tendulkar.

That's not all, the 41-year-old retired batsman had also somewhat predicted England's flopshow.

"Anything is possible at this point, but going by the current form England will not be that competitive."

In fact, "No, not really," was Tendulkar's reply when he was asked whether the English would make the semifinals of the mega event.

The accurate assessment has led to Tendulkar being compared with German octopus Paul who rose to fame in the 2010 FIFA World Cup for picking the right winners through the tournament, including the eventual champions Spain.

Sachin Tendulkar a humble man: McAllister

Former Yeovil captain McAllister, 36, was player-coach of Kerala, who were runners-up in the inaugural competition and are co-owned by India cricket legend God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar.

Told BBC Sport "Sachin's a very humble man, he's a nice man," he reminisced on a cold January afternoon at Exeter's Cat and Fiddle training ground. "We met him a few times, he had lunch with us a few times and he did a motivational speech in one of our meetings. He was very hands on with us. It was great just to be around him. "I'm not a big cricket fan but the Indian lads worshiped him. He was so humble and easy to talk to."

God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar launches 'Playing It My Way'

Playing It My Way is the autobiography of former Indian cricketer God of Cricket Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. It was launched on 5 November 2014 in Mumbai. The book summaries Sachin Tendulkar's early days, his 24 years of international career and aspects of his life that have not been shared publicly. I knew that if I agreed to write my story, I would have to be completely honest, as that's the way I have always played the game and that would mean talking about a number of things I have not addressed in public before. So here I am, at the end of my final innings, having taken that last walk back to the pavilion, ready to recount as many incidents as I can remember since first picking up a cricket bat as a child in Mumbai thirty-five years ago." - Little Master Sachin Tendulkar.

ICC World Cup 2015 Semi Final Match Today Live Updates

Update: 25th Match 2015: Yesterday semi final between New Zealand will remain as one to the classic world cup encounters. The match was played well and fought hard by both the teams, but in the end it was New Zealand who will make it to the finals. South Africa has to wait some time more and the tag of chokers will remain with them.  It is the first time and New Zealand will play in the final of the world cup and all the players in the team are in the form of their life. That is the reason the team is still unbeaten in the world cup.

Tomorrow second semi final of the world cup will be played between Australia and India. Indian team is also unbeaten so far, but this time they are playing the Aussies who are lethal on the home turf. I think Australian team is favorite here and like the 2011 world cup, this will be a final among the co hosts.

Half of this tweet is already true and half might come true tomorrow.

Its March 24th and the first semi final match of the ICC cricket world cup 2015 is being played between New Zealand and South Africa. This match is being rated as the most high voltage match of the world cup. An undefeated New Zealand facing South African team. Both the teams have a long history of choking and both the teams have never made it to finals of the world cup history.

Today morning South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first at Auckland. The opening wasn't good and both openers were gone early. However after that F du Plessis build up the innings nicely with Rossouw and AB de Villiers. In the power plays the team is accelerating the score fast and it look on the way to post a 300+ total to defend. Anything more than 300 will be a big total for New Zealand team to  chase.

Score Update: 9:32 am IST: South Africa 216/3 in 38 overs. 12 overs to go and they have still a long batting line up.

Score Update: 10:18 am IST: Rain playing spoil sport here. Its been more than an hour, the match is stopped due to rain.  Rain is expected to stop in some time, however we have a reserve day tomorrow, so chances of a tie OR DLS coming to picture are very rare.

Score Update: 10:44 am IST: Rain has stopped. Ground is being inspected and we might have a  game. Will keep you updated.

Match Update 11:00 am IST:  Match resumes in 20 minutes and its been redumced to a 43 over game each side. This means New Zealand has to work harder on remaining spells of bowlers.

Match Update: Now its going to be difficult for New Zealand to chase the revised score. South Africa made 281 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 43 overs. However the revised total for New Zealand will be 298 in 443 overs and they will get 13 overs of power play (9+4).

NZ innings starts in 10 minutes

Score update: 12:15 pm IST: Kiwis are off to a quick start reached 50 run in less that 5 overs. Current score is New Zealand  52/0 in 4.1 overs.

Score update: 12:28 pm IST: South Africa got the required breakthrough. Danger man McCullum  is out scoring a quick half century (59 of 26 balls)
Current score is New Zealand  71/1 in 6.4 overs.

World Cup Quarterfinal Match 4 Live - NZ vs West Indies

This is the last quarter final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. The match will begin in next few minutes. The winner of the match today will qualify for the semi-final match and face South Africa in the semi finals.

Looking at the performances of both the teams, West Indies team has performed in patches. Some matches they play very well however in other they were just below the standards. Thus it is very hard to say how this team will play in the quarterfinals against New Zealand.

New Zealand team on the other hands is unbeaten so far in the world cup (Only other team is India). They are good in every aspect this world cup be it batting, balling or fielding. Their fast bowlers are firing, batsmen are scoring quick runs and spin attack is very economical. This is really a world cup winning combination.

West Indies team played last league match without the opener Chis Gayle and chances of him playing are still doubtful. We'll need to see if the tam management will risk including less than 100% fit Gayle in the squad.

Catch the live score above and enjoy the match.

World Cup Quarter Final - Australia vs Pakistan Live Updates

Score Update: 12:33 pm IST - Australia needs 214 to win. Pakistan team all out for 213 in 49.5 overs.

Score Update: 12:01 pm IST - Pakistan lost the wicket of  Sohaib Maqsood at the score of 188. Sohaib Maqsood scored  29 runs facing 44 balls. Now it seems the team is in trouble.
Score:  188/7 in 42 overs.

So the latest score is Pakistan 171/6 in 39 overs.

Pakistan just lost Shahid Afridi

My early worries about the Pakistan batting line up were right. Their openers got our cheaply and later there were hardly any partnerships that could build the innings. All we can hope now is that Pakistan can score minimum 250 runs. Else anything less than this will mean another team from Asia is out of the world cup for Sure. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are already back home losing their games in quarter finals to South Africa and India respectively.

Early in the morning Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Given the form of the Pakistan cricket team batsmen, I can't say if this is the right decision or not.

World Cup Quarter Final Match Live - South Africa Vs Sri Lanka

Here starts the knock our stage of the ICC world cup 2015. South Afrcia and Sri Lanka will play the first quarterfinal match of the tournament. Both the team have qualified easily for the quarter finals from their respective pools. Sri Lanka team was placed thirds in the pool and South Africa were second in the pool (topped by India). However both the teams have same number of points 8 by winning 4 matches and losing 2. If we look at the history of world cup, any fan will predict that South Africa will lose they match. If South Africa lost the match here there will be one more tournament to add to their history of chokers. Sri Lanka team on the other hand have features in 3 recent final matches of world cup but they lost all of them. However they won the ICC T20 world cup recently and by winning this world cup they will achieve a rare feat.

If we take a look at the form of both the teams in world cup, then South Africa team looks more stronger as they are batting and balling very good. Sri Lanka on the other hand looks great in batting but bowling is not up to that mark. but one thing where Sri Lanka can be advantageous over South Africa is spin attack, if they play with a good spin attack they have the chance to qualify. Its going to be spin vs pace as batting looks fine for both the teams. Match will begin in a short time from now and I'll keep you posted about the updates. Live score you can watch at the top in the live score board area.

Update 9:35 am IST: Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. As predicted a mystery spinner debuts for Sri Lanka today. Tharindu Kaushal marks his debut and he is known to be a copy of Muralitharan in the Sri Lankan camp. Though how much impact he can bring to the match today will depend entirely on how much score the Sri Lanka team has to defend. South Africa brings KJ Abbott to the squad. So far South African fast bowlers had made a good start that have got the openers out cheaply. Dilshan and Perea were out for the score of 0 and 3 respectively. Now its upon the middle order to build the innings and put a repectable score on the board that can be defended.

Score Update: 9:39 am IST: Sri Lanka 17/2 in 7 overs

Score Update: 9:55 am IST: Sri Lanka 38/2 in 11 overs. Both Lahiru Thirimanne and Kumar Sangakkara are on their way to build the innings. Wile Sangakkars is still to find his touch, he has scored just 2 runs in 27 deliveries whereas Thirimanne made 29 runs in same number of deliveries.

Score Update: 10:30 am IST:By the time it was looking that a partnership is being built up. Sri Lanka lost another wicket. Imran Tahir provided the break through. Thirimanne out Thirimanne caught & ball by Imran Tahirat individual score of 41.

Sri Lanka: 71/3 in 19.4 overs.

 Score Update: 10:46 am IST:
Sri Lanka 86/4 in 25 over Sri Lanka are four down with under 100 runs score and this could be trouble for them. Another wicket here means Sri Lanka is out of the world cup for sure. They need o score somewhere close to 300 if not more.  Halfway though the innings South Africa will be happy with bowlers so far. Lets see how they play in the remaining innings of Sri Lanka.

Score Update: 11:40 am IST: A hattrick by J P Duminy has left Sri Lanka in trouble here. With only 120 runs on board and only 2 wickets left, its impossible for this team to post any defending total here.  Sangakkar is still on the crease and batting powerplay is goind on. Lets hope Sri Lanka bats full 50 overs and scores somewhere around 200+
